VARIATIONS ON FRIDAY NIGHT

It's been said many times that unconsciously we, photographers, are trying to shoot the same pictures over and over again [ hopefully to get a better one each time... ]. There is certainly some truth in that. Looking at some recent images I found this one of a young kid entering the subway.
Definitely some similarities with the previous post.

FRIDAY NIGHT

A quick walk on Friday night to double check some locations for a shot next week.
Sorry if I've not been posting as much as I'd like... The funny thing is that I miss it somehow...
Great week-end to you all.

WARMER SKIES

As I have been preparing some future coming gigs I didn't have much time to post anything new from NYC.
So, one more from Cambodia where I'd like to be right now. It always so nice to leave New York in this season for some warmer skies. Soon may be...

NEW YORK GIANTS' PARADE

This post might look odd just following the previous one... Well, I'm trying to be open minded.
Anyway, I missed it all, arrived too late, couldn't access the "Canyon of Heroes".

VIVE L'AMERIQUE! [3]

When you walk in the streets of NYC you often encounter murals representing some sort of Americana.
That display of national tradition, often portrayed through various elements such as flags, cars, weapons, etc... is always surprising to me. Being French, I don't think we have that national pride; more exactly I should say that it doesn't translate through the same channels.
Anyway, today this America is looking troubled, may be because NYC is setting up a parade for the Giants' victory when there are obviously more important matters to care for...

BORED AS HELL

Bored as hell, what a life for an angel...
I met this poor guy yesterday night on 3rd Ave in Brooklyn.
We exchanged a few words and I realized what a tough life he had. We, living souls like to complain, some of us even looking forward for a better "life" in the Other Kingdom...
Trust me, nothing to envy.
This sad fellow has been ignored for years by his twin brother [ hidden by the tree and curiously striking an identical pose ].
Not a word, not a "Happy Birthday" card [ no excuse to forget the day on that one ], simply nothing.
To top it off he has to endure the constant barking of 2 little white fur-wanna-be-angel [ if I can judge by their look ] doggies...
I told him that, one of these nights, I would stop by and take him for a ride.

TONLE SAP LAKE

Well, we're not in New York or in the Finger Lakes region... but in Cambodia.
I've been out yesterday in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn but didn't get anything interesting really [ yes, that happens... a lot in fact... ] and as I'm editing images from various trip in South East Asia I thought I would post this one. I will probably add more to the mix in the future.
Early morning on the Tonlé Sap with local fishermen. It's a place where I often go when in Cambodia and over the years I got a few good shots [ yes, luckily that also happens... ] and develop friendly relations with locals that always seems very amused to see me and my camera.
For the photographers crowd, that was shot F3.2 @ 1/4 s, 1600 ISO.
Lightroom 4 really helped to pulled out this image.
